I began my planetarium experience in 8th grade at the Maryvale Junior High School planetarium, Cheektowaga, NY.  My science teacher, Mr. Richard Kelsey of Hamburg, took our Earth Science class downstairs to see the stars and I was hooked!  After high school, I purposly sought out a college institution with a planetarium and courses in astronomy. My career at Buffalo State College earned me a Bachelors degree in Geoscience, a minor in Astronomy, and Masters in Earth Science Education with a concentration in planetarium program developement. Immediately after graduation I applied for an internship position down the road at the Rochester Museum & Science Center's Strasenburgh Planetarium and got it. I'm honored to be only one of a handful of talented individuals that interned at the world renouned planetarium in the Flower City.

Ironically, near the end of my experience at the big dome, my astronomy professor Dr. James Orgren was stepping down from Buff. State to enjoy retirement with his wife Sally. The Earth Science & Science Education department ask me if I'd be willing to teach Dr. Orgren's intro to astronomy courses on an interm bases...I couldn't turn down the opportunity to teach at the college level.

In the summer of 1993, I purchased a portable planetarium (
Mr. K's Mobile Dome Planetarium) and began a career teaching the about night sky and astronomy in general to schools in the Western New York region. Two years later I was asked to return to the big dome in Rochester as a school show presenter, which bloosmed into star show presenter and technician at the RMSC. Today, nearly 20 years later, I'm still presenting public star shows, school programs, large format giant screen motion pictures and laser shows in Rochester, as well as hudreds of live interactive presentations under my small dome at local schools.

I am Past President and Fellow of the Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society (
mapsplanetarium.org) and I currently sit on the Executive Board of MAPS. I'm also honored to be a Fellow of the International Planetarium Society (ips-planetarium.org.)

I look forward to sharing my knowledge about what's up in the night sky, current missions in the solar system and other fancinating topics like the structure of large scale universe for those who visit our new Challenger Learning Center of Orleans, Niagara, and Erie Counties. Come join us!
